Hello Again. The Hong Kong International Young Readers Festival is back and we are bringing you more award-winning writers for young readers from around the world. Radio 3’s Noreen Mir will be talking to them about their writings and work and reporting from their events. Join us to explore their interesting writing journey now. Brian Falkner began college intending to study computers, but along the way he decided to shift his focus to something more creative. Falkner's debut novel was The Flea Thing, and followed by twelve books in the next ten years, published in fourteen countries. His most recent book is Battlesaurus: Rampage at Waterloo. |

Varian Johnson was born and raised in Florence, South Carolina, and attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received a BS in Civil Engineering. He later attended the Vermont College of Fine Arts, where he received an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults. He is the multiple best children’s book award-winning US author, including My Life as a Rhombus. |

Uma Krishnaswami is the author of more than twenty books for children, from picture, through to novels for young readers. Her books have been published in eleven languages and have been awarded for many prizes, including Book Uncle and Me. She teaches in the United States at Vermont College of Fine Arts, in the MFA programme in Writing for Children and Young Adults. |

Bali Rai, the Angus Book Award-winning author of his notable novel (Un)arranged Marriage, which received rave reviews and was shortlisted for nine regional book prizes, winning The Angus, Stockport, North Lanarkshire and Leicester Book awards. The novel is now in eleven languages, and appears on the GCSE reading list. Rai's new title for 2015 is Game On. |

Blair Reeve, a New Zealander based in Hong Kong, he has been writing and performing a rhythmic and comical style of performance poetry. His first children's book is Hogart The Hedgehog Turns Nink. He also teaches creative writing to students at Chinese University and runs Anapest Press, his self-publishing business. |

Haresh Sharma, the multi-award-winning Resident Playwright of the Necessary Stage in Singapore and writer of over 100 plays, which have been staged worldwide. Winner of numerous prestigious awards including Singapore Literature Prize, Southeast Asian Writers Award, and the Cultural Medallion. |

Matthew Cooper has written two children's books set in Hong Kong: Black Rain Day – A Hong Kong Adventure and Lost in Hong Kong. Matthew has lived in Hong Kong for over 10 years and in that time he has worked as a medical writer (abandoned as it was a bad job for a hypochondriac) and a stay-at-home dad. |

Sarah Brennan is the Hong Kong-based, Australian-born author and publisher of the best-selling Chinese Calendar Tales as well as the hugely popular Dirty Story series for kids. Both of these are wickedly illustrated by Hong Kong’s muchloved award-winning cartoonist from the South China Morning Post, Harry Harrison. She was also a featured author in international literary festivals in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Byron Bay since 2004. |
