音乐事务处（音事处）可能是本地培训出最多乐手的机构，其中大部份为年青人，除器乐训练之外，该处亦有合唱训练。自1977年成立以来，音事处的工作大大改变了本地音乐表演和音乐欣赏的发展脉络。

四十年来，数以万计的学员受惠于音事处的训练计划，其中有些已成为职业乐手，部份从事音乐教育或行政工作，有更多虽然没有选择音乐成为职业，却因为透过参与音事处的课堂、音乐会、音乐营、外展项目、海外巡演或其他活动，与音乐结下不解之缘。

在这个特辑中，刘建婷与多位嘉宾细说音事处的历史，回顾四十年来的发展路。

The Music Office (MO) has probably trained up the greatest number of instrumentalists in Hong Kong, especially with the younger generation. Their trainees also include singers in choirs. Its inauguration in 1977 has helped to shape the breadth and depth in music-making and appreciation in the territory.

Over four decades, thousands have benefited from MO’s training programmes. A number of trainees have become professional performers. Others have become full time music teachers or music administrators. Many more didn’t choose the music business. Yet, through lessons, performances, music camps, outreach programmes, concert tours and other activities organised by MO, they have found music their lifelong friend.
