    Oceans, seas, rivers - the element of water covers 70 % of our planet's surface.  It can change state (liquid, gas, solid), temperature (hot or cold current), form (wave or cascade) and composition (saltwater or freshwater).  Water possesses phenomenal powers in movement and under pressure. Its depths conceal a wealth of extraordinary flora and fauna.  And yet, less than 2% of the Earth's ocean floors have been explored by man to date.  Water still contains so many mysteries.  And it is the challenge of these new explorers to uncover them.  In this episode, we follow the innovative scientists who play with all of water's different properties, engineers who have set out to explore every last drop of water on our planet - and reinvent our world!

      In this landmark special the viewers are taken on an exciting, investigative journey into the mysteries of Planet Earth’s super predator – The Tyrannosaurus Rex. Using the latest ground-breaking paleontological discoveries and cutting edge technology combined with comparative studies of modern animals we redefine this iconic dinosaur. The journey spans the globe. Starting in the badlands of Montana, a T.rex is pulled from the rocks for the first time in 65 million years. In the swamps of Alabama Dr. Gregory Erickson measures the bite of an alligator to unlock the mysteries of the infamous T.rex bite. Using drone technology, prehistoric track ways in Texas are deciphered providing vital clues about the way T.rex moved and how fast. In Ohio CT scanners provide a portal in to the mind of the formidable creature that sheds light on the intelligence, senses and even social side. And in a music studio in Berlin sounds from the natural world are altered, according to the latest research, to give rex a voice.       Distracted While Driving follows the lives of eight drivers over six months using in-car cameras and tracking technology to monitor the often-hidden behavior of distracted drivers. Producers gathered, observed and examined weekly data from the subjects to gain a fresh picture of the many activities drawing drivers’ attention off of the task of driving. In addition, experts from MIT, Cambridge Mobile Telematics, Safety Track and the University of Connecticut provided monitoring equipment, data storage and expert analysis. Distracted While Driving gives audiences a firsthand look at emerging technologies that could one day offer solutions to rising crash statistics, featuring research being done at Google on next-generation in-car infotainment systems, and a Swedish-based company developing technology that could one day allow cars to understand our feelings and make driving decisions based on our own individual needs.

      In the last episode, scientists analyzed the Earth's climate situation up until now. This time, they are going to predict the future, starting with polar ice. They find out that global warming is leading to melting glaciers and rising sea levels. As a result, low-lying islands and cities may drown. Warmer oceans also threaten the survival of corals and other marine creatures. Faced with this global predicament, some are developing a new form of solar energy that enables everything to generate power; some are trying to recycle CO2 and reduce emissions. Can we un-change the climate before it is too late?

      Nuclear accidents severely damage the environment and soil for decades at least. Previously fertile soil and land that once provided a habitat for fauna and flora then become a source of poison.
      But it is not just radioactivity that causes irreparable damage to our lands, intensive farming also causes this slow but sure poisoning. Use of pesticides and toxic fertilisers, the cultivation of plants and crops that are inappropriate for the soil type and, ultimately, damage to the environment and biodiversity are evident in every field!

      In regions that are prone to wildfires, such as the areas around the Mediterranean Basin, the fight to save species is underway. After the ravages of the flames, programmes aimed at reforestation and reintroduction of animal species are being conducted by biologists, agronomists and environmental specialists. How are they reforesting entire woods and also making them more fireproof? To protect biodiversity, scientists are assessing wildfires’ impact on local animals. Some insects take advantage of the disasters and spread in burnt forests. Some other creatures lose their habitats after the fires, like the endangered Iberian lynx. Can scientists save them from a bigger crisis?

      Water is at the heart of life itself and of biodiversity.  If it is polluted or there is a shortage of water, then many ecosystems will come under threat. The environmental disaster in Brazil in November 2015, caused by the failure of a mining dam, devastated not only the species along the rivers, but might also pose a threat to the sea turtles that laid eggs on the beaches nearby. Associations and volunteers have been attempting to repair the immense damage done to the environment. In Africa, it is beset with water shortage. Therefore, many countries are now committed to an impossible mission: building a forest on the edge of the desert to help combat droughts. Can the scientists fix the water and rescue its ecosystems?
