One of Hong Kong’s most significant annual charity campaigns – Operation Santa Claus (OSC), jointly organised by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Radio 3 and the South China Morning Post (SCMP), has raised about HK$300 million and has benefited over 280 charities in the past 31 years. A launch ceremony for “Operation Santa Claus 2019”, themed as “From Hong Kong with Love”, was held on 7 November at the HKEX Connect Hall. 13 selected deserving causes that will benefit from this year’s community-wide charity event were also introduced.
Executive Council Convenor Bernard CHAN was invited to be a guest of honour for “Operation Santa Claus 2019” Launch Ceremony along with Executive Director and Chief Executive of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited Charles LI. Director of Broadcasting LEUNG Ka-wing, Editor-in-Chief of SCMP Tammy TAM, OSC 2019 Ambassadors Stephanie AU and Pakho CHAU, jointly officiated at the launch ceremony which marked the start of a series of fundraising events that will be held in November and December. The Ceremony also featured performances by a capella Metro Vocal Group and the Oboe and Cor Anglais Duo 2S.
香港电台第三台及南华早报合办的年度慈善筹款活动「爱心圣诞大行动」，多年来推动社会各界乐善好施，在过去31年共筹得善款近3亿港币，支援逾280家慈善组织，让他们获赠资金扩展社会服务范畴，惠泽更多有需要人士。「爱心圣诞大行动2019」以「点点爱心成就香江」作号召，于今晚（11月7日）假香港金融大会堂揭幕，大会并介绍今年获选的13间受惠机构。
行政会议召集人陈智思应邀担任活动主礼嘉宾，并鼓励大家积极行善，造福社会。活动上，香港交易所执行董事暨集团行政总裁李小加联同其他嘉宾，包括：广播处长梁家荣、《南华早报》总编辑谭卫儿、「爱心圣诞大行动2019」大使欧铠淳及周柏豪一起为活动主持揭幕仪式，冀与各界携手分享爱心，共襄善举。揭幕仪式亦意味着由商界机构及学校自行发动的连串筹款项目将于未来两个月陆续展开。此外，无伴奏合唱组合Metro Vocal Group 、双簧管及英国管二重奏2S即席表演，场内气氛温馨热闹。
