Hong Kong on Saturday reported 8,060 new coronavirus infections, including 501 imported cases.
It's the third consecutive day on which the SAR's daily Covid caseload has exceed the 8,000 mark.
The Centre for Health Protection said the majority of cases involved the BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron mutant strains.
Nine more patients with Covid have passed away.
