Hong Kong stocks built on the previous day's rally at Friday's open, as investors cheered forecast-beating US data indicating that the world's top economy is faring better than thought.

The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.21 percent, to 22,614.

Mainland Chinese markets were closed for the Lunar New Year break. (AFP)
