He criticised the media for giving people the false impression that the administration was divided over its anti-epidemic measures. A new survey of people aged 60 and over has found more than one in 10 concealed previous Covid infections, while some say fear of side effects stopped them getting three jabs. Kelly Yu reports:

Infectious diseases specialist, Joseph Tsang, says he is surprised to find that some elderly people are still reluctant to get Covid jabs. The Hong Kong Public Opinion Research Institute interviewed 664 people aged 60 and over and found 18 percent had not been fully vaccinated, with a third of these expressing concern over side effects. Tsang told Samantha Butler more about the survey findings:

The death of a five-year-old boy who was found unconscious with multiple injuries inside a subdivided Sham Shui Po flat at the weekend has raised fresh concerns over the welfare of children from poor families. The boy's mother has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and another woman was also detained for alleged child neglect. Social work professor, Paul Wong from the University of Hong Kong, says there is always help available for struggling parents, and he urged people to muster the courage to reach out. The father of a dancer injured during a concert by boyband MIRROR has revealed that the 27-year-old has been given a five-percent chance of fully recovering from a spinal injury. Mo Li is in danger of becoming permanently paralysed from the neck down. His father, Reverend Derek Li, said they would try acupuncture next, though the prospects of success were uncertain. The leadership election to determine Britain’s next prime minister has seen contenders, Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss, clash on a range of issues, from how to fix the country’s ailing economy to each other’s political records. But on one issue, the Conservative Party hopefuls appeared to be in harmony - and that was over taking strong action against Beijing, with both vying to adopt the toughest line on how best to restrain China's burgeoning international influence.
