Cathay Pacific; RTHK

2020-09-29
On Tuesday's Backchat, restructuring of Cathay Pacific and the future of RTHK.

Speaking to media on Friday, the CEO of Cathay Pacific, Tang Kin-wing said the company will not rule out any options to minimise the cost of operation. He refused to answer to queries regarding staff cuts but the airline announced last week that it wouldn't apply for the second round of government subsidies which are intended to help local companies to retain manpower and alleviate financial burden.

Can it survive, and if it has to cut costs, what's the best way to do that? Should the Government continue the bail out? What are its advantages? Is it time to reposition itself? What does Beijing want?

From 9:15-9:30, amid controversy over an interviewer, we'll be discussing the shape of RTHK.
