On Thursday's Backchat: Retirement ages; and the National Games.
It's being reported that the Hospital Authority plans to extend the retirement age for all staff from 60 to 65, in an attempt to retain manpower.
It is said employees will have still have the option to retire at 60 if they prefer, and the new arrangement will not affect their career prospects.
The proposal could be discussed at the authority's board meeting on September 23.
What do you think of the plan? Would this help to solve the shortage of medical staff? And what about staff in other sectors, both public and private?
Should there be a standard retirement age, across the working population?
After 9:15am, we’re discussing the National Games as Hong Kong now has three medals already. Can we expect more?
