Global Financial Leaders' Investment Summit: Conversations with Global Investors
2022-11-03
The Global Financial Leaders' Investment Summit ("Summit") is a budget initiative announced by the Financial Secretary in his 2022-23 Budget. To further tap into Hong Kong's strength in attracting investment and our influence as an international financial centre, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority will organise the Summit at the Four Seasons Hotel on 2 November and at the HKEX Connect Hall on 3 November.
The 3 November “Conversations with Global Investors” seminar, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Academy of Finance, will have two panels, featuring 9 of the world’s top investment management firms. It will focus on the investment outlook and explore how investors should position themselves to manage risks and capture future opportunities. The wisdom and vision of these speakers will provide participants with a more comprehensive and multi-faceted perspective on the current investment landscape.
The global macro-environment is filled with uncertainties and challenges: rising interest rates, stagflation risks, geopolitical tensions, intensifying climate impact and a still-prevalent pandemic. Financial markets have seen significant volatilities highlighting jittery sentiments and potential vulnerabilities in different markets. Two panels, featuring top leaders from Global Asset Managers and Alternative Managers, will explore the impact of these developments and how investors should position themselves to manage risks and capture future opportunities.
The Summit will bring together an eminent group of global financial leaders from over 100 major institutions including banks, securities firms, asset managers, private equity and venture capital firms, hedge funds, and insurers. More than 30 of these institutions are represented by their group chairmen or CEOs. These will showcase Hong Kong’s positioning as China’s gateway and opportunities from the Greater Bay Area, and will provide a perfect opportunity for financial leaders to network, explore collaboration / expansion of business in Hong Kong.
