在菲律宾群岛中心地带的保和岛是独特的地质瑰宝。每年在十二月至五月的旱季期间，山丘上的草会变成朱古力的棕色，构成了标志性的「巧克力山」，与四周雨林的翠绿色形成鲜明对比。
由于地质及板块活动历史，保和岛拥有非常多样化的动植物群。当地拥有的稀有物种包括能在树间滑翔的鼯猴、翼展超过1.5米的的大型蝙蝠—菲律宾果蝠，与及菲律宾眼镜猴。不幸的是，当地独特的生态系统正面对着森林砍伐、偷猎及气候变化的严重威胁。

In the heart of the Philippine archipelago lies Bohol Island, a geological gem known for its unique features. Its grassy hills transform into a "chocolate brown" hue during the dry season from December to May, resulting in the iconic Chocolate Hills and creating a striking contrast with the lush green rainforest surrounding them.
Bohol boasts a diverse array of flora and fauna due to its complex geological and tectonic history. Among its rare species are the colugo, which glides gracefully between trees; the giant golden-crowned flying fox, with a wingspan exceeding 1.5 meters; and the Philippine tarsier. Unfortunately, these unique ecosystems are now under serious threat from deforestation, poaching, and climate change.
