Flying, or more sophisticatedly called, aviation, seems super mysterious and out-of-reach for most outsiders of the industry. The purpose of this programme is to reveal the secrets, to clarify the myth and to let the ordinary public hear the unexposed stories in aviation. Accompanied by different insiders of aviation, each episode will take you on an eye-opening journey.
Airplanes are operated by humans, who have weaknesses and could make mistakes. For many decades the aviation industry has ignored the signs of stress, anxiety or depression among pilots, leading to incidents and in some cases fatal accidents.
To tackle such a problem, nowadays many airlines have implemented programmes to help pilots and cabin crew to deal with personal problems and minimize their stress levels, trying to make the flights safer. Yet the pandemic, restrictions and quarantine have severely affected the mental health of pilots over the past two years. How did the pilots get on with it and remain mental stable?
