In this week's episode, we will talk about marriage and childbearing culture in East Asia. Dr Fumiya Uchikoshi from Harvard University, will explore the relationship between marriage and childbearing in East Asia and why the region has low fertility rates. He was invited by the University of Hong Kong to give a speech entitled “Revisiting the Relationship between Marriage and Childbearing in Low-Fertility East Asia.”

In this week's episode, we will talk about the modern Chinese quest to stay fit. G.A. Donovan, Fellow on Chinese Society and Political Economy at the Asia Society, will moderate a discussion to talk about how a wellness wave is sweeping across China. First up, he will discuss with Hsuan-Ying Huang, associate professor at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Anna Iskra, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Copenhagen and John Osburg, Fellow on Chinese Society and Associate Professor at the University of Rochester. They were invited by the Asia Society to have a discussion entitled “China’s Wellness Boom: Healthy Mind, Healthy Spirit.”
