    Carnival & Mardi Gras classics & New World Hits !

    This week World Vibes has two outstanding musical themes on offer ! First we riffle through the archives for music celebrating the upcoming Carnival-Mardi Gras festivities, happening in a lot countries next week on and leading up to Tuesday the 25th ! And in between those a new selection of Hot New Hits from a lot of other places on the planet ! Click on 'World Vibes' above for more details.

    Our first hour starts the ball rolling with new hits alternating with Carnival classics, beginning with new 'joy guilt' laden Emma (Italy), classic Salvador da Bahia 'Carnaval' fare from 'bloko afro' group Ara Ketu (Brazil), new Latino 'bye ex' balad from Daddy Yankee & Sech (Puerto Rico-Panama), classic 'Carnaval de Québec' track from V'la L'Bon Vent chorus (Canada), new love balad from Rome based Ultimo (Italy), classic 'Carnaval de Barranquilla' fare from legendary Fruko y sus Tesos (Colombia), new stunning Pop orchestra arrangements from Mark Forster (Germany), classic miners' 'Diablada' song from 'Carnaval de Oruro' musicians (Bolivia), new social commentary from Rap best sung artist J-Ax (Italy), ending the first hour with a classic Marimba carnival fare from Chichicastenango musicians (Guatemala). A plethora of great sounds both new and old, enjoy !

    Our second hour continues with our two musical themes intertwinned, beginning with 'reminiscin' balladeer Cesare Cremonini (Italy), classic 'Carnaval de Santiago' song from Eliades Ochoa fronted Cuarteto Patria (Cuba), new first time collaboration for Tainy & Sean Paul & Mozart La Para ft Cazzu (Puerto Rico-Jamaica-Dominican Rep-Argentina), classic 'Compas Muffin' Carnaval hit from 'Misik Rasin' band King Posse (Haiti), winter's emotions from Tiziano Ferro (Italy), classic 'Calypso Carnaval' steeldrums from Port-of-Spain band (Trinidad & Tobago), a new tribute to everyday heroes from singing rapper Soprano (France), classic MariachiMarimba Carnival strings from Veracruz guitarists (Mexico), a new love balad from recently solo Tommaso Paradiso (Italy), ending the hour and the show in rave form with a two song segue of the same song from classicist Mamou band, followed by the LingalaAcadian version from Pierre Kwenders & Radio Radio (USA-DemRep Congo-Canada). Classic sounds reinterpreted to new versions of classic genres, all good, enjoy !
