Described by Steve Reich as ‘one of the finest musicians in the world today’ and by Gramophone magazine as ‘the pinnacle of contemporary percussion’, Colin Currie is a soloist and chamber musician who champions new music at the very highest level and has premiered a number of works by Reich. To celebrate the composer’s 90th he curated a programme of Music for Pieces of Wood, Mallet Quartet and Drumming with the Colin Currie Group recorded earlier this year at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque, Madrid.

敲击乐演奏家居利曾获古典音乐简约主义大师莱尔盛赞为「当今世上最杰出的音乐家之一」，亦获《留声机》杂志誉为「当代敲击乐的巅峰代表」。居利一直致力于最高水准的当代音乐推广，并首演莱尔的多首作品。

为庆祝莱尔九十岁寿辰，居利策划了一辑精选节目，带领自己的乐团演绎《木块之音乐》、《琴槌四重奏》及《击鼓》。本节目于今年较早前在马德里伯爵公爵当代文化中心录制。
