Sang Lan, a young Chinese gymnast who sustained
a paralyzing injury at the "Goodwill Games" on July 1998 in United
States, is struggling for recovery. According to doctors, it was
unlikely for Sang Lan to walk again. Despite her disability, Sang
Lan determined not to allow herself lapse into despair. She did
believe that she would walk again one day.
While Sang Lan was undergoing rehabilitation
in New York, she has build up a close relationship with a Chinese
American family - the Liu's. Many people called Sang Lan a "brave
and incredible young lady". She had become an international symbol
of courage and was very popular in United States.
