Prue Leith has been a household name since the 1970s. 45 years ago she made, what was for the time, the radical decision to adopt a Cambodian baby, Li-Da. Prue gave Li-Da an idyllic English upbringing at her Cotswolds home and, by her own admission, rarely questioned whether she could have helped Li-Da connect more with her Cambodian roots. Now in this intimate and revealing film Prue and Li-Da travel to Cambodia to search for her biological family. Social media and DNA testing are allowing thousands of children who, like Li-Da, were evacuated just before Pol Pot’s genocide to reconnect with lost relatives. For Prue, as she approaches 80, there may not be many more chances to make this journey. And for Li-Da this is her chance to help Prue understand why it’s so important to explore her heritage. What neither of them can predict is how they will react should they find what they are looking for.

Elite Special Forces soldier Jason Fox served on multiple tours in Afghanistan, spending more than three years fighting in a war that saw some of the fiercest battles in modern British military history. Afghanistan both defined Jason as a soldier and made him the man he is today. He saw friends killed and seriously injured in combat and narrowly escaped death multiple times. This left him with a punishing personal legacy: PTSD. Because of this, Jason was discharged from the Special Forces and made to leave behind the life and job he loved.
Nearly a decade after leaving Afghanistan, Jason is returning on a very personal journey. Now he will seek to understand this complex country and the people he was sent to help, meeting old friends and former enemies, and ask whether the sacrifices are worth the traumatic legacy he, the Afghan people and many of his fellow soldiers have been left to endure.

How did South Korea tackle the Coronavirus pandemic without a damaging national lockdown? What vital lessons Britain could learn and may that reveal what life could be like in the UK when lockdown finally ends? Filmed in hospitals, testing centres and laboratories at the heart of South Korea’s struggle against Coronavirus, and with interviews with top South Korean politicians and scientists, the documentary reveals a relentless national effort that at almost every stage has seemed faster and better planned than the UK effort. Medical experts interviewed for the documentary recount how they dealt with a severe outbreak within the Shincheonji Church of Jesus - a secretive Christian sect with over 200,000 members.

As well as treating patients, he wants to understand what the virus is doing to our bodies and why it’s so difficult to treat. To make things more stressful for Chris, his wife Dinah is seven months pregnant with their second child.
Chris’s twin brother, Dr Xand van Tulleken, is a specialist in public health. Xand has worked in medical emergencies around the world. He wants to examine the impact Covid-19 on the UK’s most vulnerable, and lend a hand where he can. Xand contracted Covid back in March and it has left him tired and sluggish. He’s also developed an irregular heart beat which he suspects is part of the aftermath of his Covid infection. The film ends in the middle of June, with lockdown easing and Xand finally able to visit Chris and his family at home. The film ends with Chris wondering how many other people had serious complications after contracting the virus, and articulating the concern about the implications of a second wave...

The number of climate refugees is rising - and yet the status of ‘climate refugee’ has yet to be officially recognized by national or international law. One factor is illustrative of the devastating impact of climate change on countries and communities: water. Recent years have seen an increasing number of floods and droughts. A third of the global population lives near the coast, and an estimated 700 million people are facing rising sea levels. In the Philippines more than 85 percent of the population say they are feeling the impact of climate change in the rising frequency of flooding and violent typhoons. Farmers in the highlands of Guatemala, on the other hand, are suffering extreme drought. Both water scarcity and flooding are sparking mass migration.

What do tomatoes have to do with mass migration? Tomatoes are a poker chip in global trade policies. Subsidized products from the EU, China and elsewhere are sold at dumping prices, destroying markets and livelihoods in Africa in the process. Desperate farmers find themselves having to seek work elsewhere, including in Europe. In the surrounding region, the market for tomatoes has collapsed and most farmers are no longer growing what could easily be Ghana’s ‘red gold’. An agricultural advisor is trying to help local tomato farmers, but has little by way of hope to offer. Conditions like this are what drive local farmers to cut their losses and head for Europe. Once in Italy, migrants from Ghana and other African countries are forced to live in desperate conditions near the plantations.
