The research confirmed that beavers, as “eco-engineers,” enhance biodiversity, purify water, and reduce flooding. However, despite these findings, concerns from farmers and their lobbying efforts raise questions about whether the scientific evidence will influence future decisions regarding the beavers’ fate.
