French May Arts Festival is a prestigious cultural and arts event in Asia. In its 32nd edition, it will be hosting over 100 cultural events from May to June. Echoing this year’s theme of “Vive L’art”, the festival blends international vision and local elements to bring the audience a journey of extraordinary entertainment. It brings together more than 200 artists and performers from France and Hong Kong. There will be full of sparks from collaborations!
The theme of the third Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival is “More Than Joy”. By searching for hilarious factors in different elements such as music, images and texts, it aims at making the public have joy and laughter, as well as appreciate the inheritance, circulation, integration and breakthrough of pop culture. From April to July, the Festival offers stage performances, film screenings, exhibitions, outreach activities and more, rethinking and enjoying the humour in life.
This is the first stop of Cirque du Soleil’s legendary Asian tour. From May 21st to June 22nd, thrilling performances will be presented in the big tent on Central Harbourfront. The troupe will present the award-winning show “KOOZA”, which combines aerial acrobatics, juggling, gorgeous costumes and sets, funny clowns and spectacular live music. There’s also a new interactive session, leading the audience on a magical journey.

“Picasso for Asia: A Conversation”, jointly curated by M+ and Musée national Picasso-Paris, features more than 60 masterpieces created by Spanish artist Picasso from the late 1890s to the early 1970s. This is the first large-scale Picasso exhibition held in Hong Kong in more than a decade. It comprises four parts: The Genius, The Outsider, The Magician and the Apprentice, presenting the characteristics of Picasso and his works from different periods.
Cheung Chau Bun Festival will be held on 5th May on Buddha’s birthday. During the day, you can watch the Piu Sik Parade, a float parade with children depicting social current affairs or folk tales. This year they will include hot topics such as KK Park, Ne Zha, National Games and more. At midnight, the final of the annual Bun Scrambling Competition will begin! 9 male and 3 female athletes will be competing for the titles of “Bun-scrambling King” and “Queen”.
"The Great Unity - Civilisation of the Qin and Han Dynasties in Shaanxi Province” exhibition is running from now until 7th July at the Hong Kong Museum of History. Highlight is three different terracotta warriors of Emperor Qin Shihuang, which are grade-one national treasures and are displayed in Hong Kong for the first time.
The exhibition displays a total of more than 130 sets of precious cultural relics, including 11 grade-one national treasures, four of which are being exhibited outside the Mainland for the first time, introducing the development of politics, economy, culture, technology and Sino-foreign transportation during the Qin and Han dynasties. Admission is free.

Organised by the Trade Development Council and running from 27th to 30th April at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, Fashion InStyle gathers suppliers of fashion industries from many countries and regions. It is a key sourcing exhibition for the Asian fashion and textile industry. This year, the festival features a new concept exhibition zone NEXT, bringing together more than 60 suppliers of new materials, including mushroom leather, pineapple leaf fiber, bamboo fiber and more, illustrating how smart technology, biodegradation and upcycling can combine new materials to bring new possibilities to the fashion industry.
