众所周知，黄凯芹(Christopher)是位唱而优则作的「DJ歌手」，但原来他最初加入香港电台时，是在古典音乐台当暑期工。Chris在工余时录制节目声带，自荐给时任香港电第二台台长吴锡辉试听，从此成为该台的一员，与周慧敏、陈汉诗等一众新晋DJ，接受恩师邓蔼霖的正统训练。Chris又自录歌曲在节目中播放，获惜才的吴锡辉推荐到唱片公司签约，正式出道成为歌手。
