Live from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the Grand Millennium Classics Concert not only celebrated the arrival of a new millennium, but also presented 10 popular favourites, as voted by the public. The music was performed by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta under Tsung Yeh.

Eighteen months in the making, the final recital was held in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Concert Hall. Four finalists emerged and played with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Sammuel Wong.
