The Lunar New Year fireworks show is returning to Hong Kong for the first time since 2020.

Organisers announced that the 23-minute extravaganza will be held on February 11, the second day of the Year of the Dragon.

It'll feature eight segments, with 23,888 shots of fireworks in various shapes, such as smiley faces and shoe-shaped gold ingots.

The fireworks will be launched from three barges in waters off the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai from 8pm.

The display, coordinated by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and sponsored by the Hong Kong Celebrations Association, is estimated to cost HK$13 million.
