Welfare group, Soco, says the government should introduce a mechanism to set a minimum wage, based on a percentage of the median wage in the city. The group's deputy director, Sze Lai-shan, says the minimum wage is currently 38 percent of the median wage, when it should be between 50 to 60 percent. She said this would make the rate over $53/hr. The US Supreme Court has preserved access to a commonly-used abortion pill, ruling that the drug can remain available while a legal case continues. It comes after the Supreme Court, which has a conservative majority, overturned Roe v Wade last June, ending the nationwide guarantee to abortion and giving US states the power to ban the procedure.
