The chair of the Democratic Party says his party has always believed that it meets the requirements of being loyal to the SAR and upholding the Basic Law. Lo Kin-hei was commenting after announcing his party would field eight candidates in the first District Council Election, since the councils were reformed to ensure only patriots serve in the roles. Lo said the party had no control over the thoughts of those in the administration and in the individuals who can nominate candidates. Ada Au reports:

A lawmaker who co-chairs a transitional housing project says it is likely the government will have to allow tenants to stay in short-term homes for longer than expected. Judy Chan made the comments at the launch of the transitional housing project she is involved with, in Causeway Bay. Such flats are intended to accommodate people for three or four years while they wait for public housing. But Chan says they may be needed for longer, especially with the administration putting its resources toward a different short-term housing measure. She spoke to Anne Chan:
Local universities build virtual worlds for learning  Listenfacebook
Local universities have been collaborating to build virtual learning environments for students studying journalism, logistics or heritage. The Metaverse project has over $8.7 million in government funding, with Hang Seng University, Hong Kong Chu Hai College, HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education, and the University of Hong Kong, joining forces to create three-dimensional virtual worlds. Professor Eugene Wong is director of the Virtual Reality Centre at Hang Seng University. He told Samantha Butler how metaverse users at different locations can enter the same scene - for example, a logistics warehouse - and work together in real-time to solve problems and learn:
Food safety reminder over chilled chicken dishes  Listenfacebook
The Centre for Food Safety has urged the catering trade to take extra care when preparing chicken dishes that are not served hot, such as Hainan chicken and shredded chicken. It made the call despite tests on a hundred such dishes, all of which were found to be within acceptable bacterial levels. The centre noted that bacteria could grow if chicken meat was not stored at proper temperatures. The centre's principal medical officer, Dr Tony Chow, spoke to Vanessa Cheng:
