At least 720 tour groups from the mainland, involving 30,000 visitors, will be coming to the SAR for the upcoming Golden Week holiday - and that does not include those coming individually. Authorities say they will be prepared for the expected surge of visitors. Vanessa Cheng reports:

Chief Executive John Lee has promised more will be done to support carers and that the government should build a society with mutual support. The government has launched a campaign called Care the Carers, which includes a 24-hour hotline for social workers to assess callers' needs and send support. The Hospital Authority says it has rolled out an integrated Chinese-Western medicine programme to help patients relieve side-effects during cancer treatment. The pilot scheme, which began this month at Princess Margaret Hospital, will be extended to Tuen Mun Hospital in October. The authority says acupuncture will be offered to some patients to counter the side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. An 18-year-old has been jailed for 11 years after being caught with 2.6 kilogrammes of ketamine in 2021. The court heard that he took part in drug trafficking because his family was having financial difficulties during the pandemic. Anne Chan reports:

The executive director of KELY Support Group has spoken out against tougher sentencing of young drug offenders. Sky Siu says unless they are the masterminds behind the crime, evidence shows imprisoning juveniles before the age of 21 can harm their prospects and increase their chances of re-offending. She said Tuesday's 11-year jail sentence on an 18-year-old for drug trafficking was a tough one. Siu told Samantha Butler the case highlighted a social issue, showing how poverty could drive young people to commit crime:

A survey of around 3,000 people shows a lack of awareness over eye protection, especially against sunlight. Dr Emmy Li, president of the Hong Kong Ophthalmological Society says its joint survey with the charity, Orbis, showed over 80 percent of respondents experienced light sensitivity and reduced night vision. Yet many were unaware of the need to wear proper UV-coated sunglasses to reduce exposure. Li told Ben Tse about how UV damage increased the incidence of eye diseases:

Top diplomat Wang Yi says China is willing to play a "constructive" role in the success of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in San Francisco. He said November's APEC meeting should be a stage for promoting cooperation. Kelly Yu reports:

China says it has agreed with Japan and South Korea to hold a summit between the three countries' leaders "as early as possible". It comes after senior diplomats held a rare meeting in Seoul. The three-way talks - attended by deputy and assistant ministers from the three countries - were seen as an attempt to ease Beijing's concerns over Washington's deepening security ties with Tokyo and Seoul.
