In this week's episode, we will have a look into the role of Hong Kong in directing regional and global flows in terms of travel and broader geopolitical dynamics. Dr. John Wong, Associate Professor of Humanities and Social Science at the University of Hong Kong, will explain how Hong Kong owed its geopolitical and economic significance to its role as China’s outlet during the Cold War, and how the city has refashioned itself since China’s Reform era. Dr. Wong was invited by the University of Hong Kong to give a talk entitled “Staging Hong Kong (Studies) in Chinese History”
