此邦位处印度西北，既是鱼米之乡，亦是该国数一数二的富庶之地。因较鲜为人知，寻幽探胜者亦较邻邦拉贾斯坦邦少，但旁遮普历史上迭遭波斯、希腊、英国入侵，而沈淀出丰富的文化遗产。
此片锡克大公之地，亦是锡克教的诞生之处，以及其圣殿金庙所在。此气势魁宏的建筑，表面全由黄金覆盖，雄据阿姆利则市的市中心。

In Persian, Punjab means “the land of the five rivers”.
This state, located on the northwest of India, is the bread basket of the country and one of the richest. Although less known, and therefore less visited, than neighbouring Rajasthan, Punjab has a wealthy cultural heritage resulting from the successive invasions of Persians, Greeks and British.
This land of the Maharajas is also the birthplace of the Sikh religion and its holy shrine, the Golden Temple. This magnificent building, entirely covered with gold, is located in the heart of the city of Amritsar.
