In this week's episode, we will talk about advertising in Modern China. Dr. Cécile Armand from the ENS de Lyon in France has written a book “Madmen in Shanghai” which provides a novel perspective on the emergence of the advertising industry in pre-Communist China. Dr Armand was invited by The University of Hong Kong to give a talk entitled “Madmen in Shanghai: A Social History of Advertising in Modern China (1914–1956).”

In this week's episode, we will talk about renewable energy. Abdallah Al Shamali, Policy and Projects Director at Global Solar Council, Ms. Katreena Pillejera, Country Manager of the Philippines at Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Michael Williamson, Section Chief of the Energy Division at UN ESCAP, will be exploring the specific roles that cities can play in achieving the goal of tripling renewable energy capacity globally. They were invited by the CarbonCare Innolab to give a talk entitled “Tripling Renewable Energy Global Pledge: What are the Roles of Cities?”.
