By coming out of the water, our ancestors opened a new chapter of our evolution. It's on land that the organs that allow us today to hear, think or manipulate developed.
Throughout this exploration, surprising discoveries emerge. Bones that permitted our reptilian ancestors to chew today allow us to hear. Our hand proportions are very similar to those of primates that lived 18 million years ago. Finally, 40,000 years ago, Neanderthals had a larger brain than ours.

Here comes the Blob! More commonly known as slime-mold, this extraordinary one-billion-year-old organism challenges our worldview on living matter and is about to revolutionize the concept of intelligence.

Blending science fiction, the beauty of nature, humor and cutting-edge science, director Jacques Mitsch (In the Mind of Plants, Animal Doctors…) takes us to a quirky trip exploring this most surprising and mind-blowing organism. Neither animal, nor plant, nor fungi, the blob is one giant single cell whose amazing capacities are leading pioneer scientists to a very new world – that of brainless intelligence.

Shot on 3 continents, the film is a scientific investigation shaped like a thriller, following top international experts from Europe, Japan and the US, through their major discoveries, and offering a mind-blowing experience into the very roots of cognition.

We may be witnessing the dawn of a bold new era of human activity in space for science and exploration—but also for profit. An explosion of private companies are developing new technologies and lowering costs to bring space closer than ever. And at the same time, NASA is returning to manned spaceflight with gusto—once again building a rocket to take us far beyond Earth—a rocket more powerful even than the storied Saturn V. But this is not the first time we’ve seen signs of a rocketry renaissance. In the 1980s, there was a boom—and bust—in the privatization of space travel. Will today’s optimism over companies like SpaceX and Virgin Galactic prove prescient, or nothing more than hype and wishful thinking? One thing is certain: As costs come down and new rockets with new capabilities come online, a new generation is reaching for the cosmos, once more daring to dream big, and yearning to go farther, in greater numbers than ever before.

The first major chapters of our evolution take us back to a distant past when our ancestors lived in the oceans. It's in the water that are born the organs that allow us today to see, touch, or reproduce. Throughout this exploration, surprising discoveries emerge. Our eye is very similar to that of the lamprey, the oldest jawless vertebrate still alive. The gills of cartilaginous fish such as sharks and rays would be the precursors of our members. Coitus was born in the water over 300 million years ago, invented by the placoderms, curious armored fish.

In Dahshur, 40km south of Cairo, two pyramids vie to be the most beautiful. Two ground-breaking monuments that are allegedly the first true pyramids - a vital element to understand the evolution of pyramid building. To the south lies the Bent Pyramid and its peculiar angle. To the north lies the Red Pyramid, perhaps the very first triangle-shaped pyramid. Both pyramids were supposedly made by Snefru - founder of the 4th pharaoh dynasty and father of the famous Khufu. The greatest builder in Ancient Egypt. Two pyramids whose brand new building techniques were probably used as reference by all pharaohs who came after.
